Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an interesting history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from nearby Thailand, where gambling den gaming is banned. Eight casinos are based in a generally tiny space in the city of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The phenomenal capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from 7.5 million dollars to more than 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few limitations constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; still, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are officially open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and although visas are supposedly required to cross, there are ways around this, as is correct of many border crossings.

The initial Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just one gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling hall, contains 150 one armed bandits and sixty gaming tables. The Naga gambling den is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of vingt-et-un, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. There are 150 one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 slots and 68 gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred slots and seventy gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and ninety six table games, including eighty seven punto banco (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five one armed bandits and sixty six of the normal table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling dens in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 one armed bandits and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that features numerous luxuries in addition to the gambling hall, which contains ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slots and eighty eight tables.
